Mifflin County Chapter
Currently 4 trips are being finalized for the 2007 year:
Wed., April 18 -- National Historic Theatre in Mifflinburg, PA.: Tour new exhibit Women Doctors of the Civil War, Demonstration of Early Life in Mifflinburg, Decorate and keep fired ceramic butter-mold, lunch at the theatre, and attend a theatrical performance, Tour new Pennsylvania Painted Country Chair Exhibit. We will leave Lewistown approx. 7:45 AM and plan to be back by 6:00 PM. Cost per person $47.00
Early June -- 
Three day tour of the Hudson River Valley: Some highlights of the tour will include visits to the following: Phillipsburg Manor, Hyde Park (home of Franklin Roosevelt and the first Presidential Library), the Vanderbilt Mansion, and West Point. We will use local step-on guides to further enhance the quality of the tour. More information to follow by January newsletter.
Wed., Sept. 27 -- Wellsboro Backward Luncheon Tour: Group will meet guide in front of Dunkin Donuts at Wellsboro's downtown Bi-Lo Plaza….. Enjoy a visit to Highland Chocolates in Wellsboro for an introduction and tour of this non-profit enterprise plus dessert and time for browsing in the gift shop. Group members will enjoy chocolate dessert treats and sparkling beverage as they tour the workshop area. Visit the Penn Wells Restaurant, Wellsboro, for the entrée portion of your meal. Entrée selections include Grilled Chicken Breast with a white wine sauce, Broiled Haddock, Baked Ham, and 
Roast Turkey. Also included are Garden Salad, Potato, Vegetable, and Beverage. Driving tour through local area….. Visit the PA Grand Canyon Overlook and Visitor's Center just outside of Wellsboro in Ansonia for great views of this natural wonder….. All aboard a ride on the Tioga Central Railroad departing from Wellsboro Junction. This 1 ½ hour roundtrip excursion travels to Hammond Lake and back….. Train ride at 3 pm. ….. As a special treat, a private car has been reserved for the group featuring an appetizer buffet or butlered appetizers to enjoy during the first half of the ride.
Thurs., Dec. 6 -- Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, Lancaster, PA. The show is "White Christmas" (Irving Berlin's). The itinerary is as follows: 9:45 AM Leave Library in Lewistown, lunch at 12:00 noon, 1:15 PM show time and should be over by 4:00 PM with an ETA in Lewistown of 6:00 PM.
