Welcome to Mifflin County Chapter of PASR

Serving retired school employees of Mifflin County. We are active volunteers in our community in the categories of Education, Political, Social Services, Religion and Services to Youth. We are committed to providing Services to Members, promoting and supporting Legislative Concerns that affect our members and we encourage all local retirees who are PSERS annuitants to join us.

We are members of Region 5: Blair, Centre, Clearfield, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Snyder, and Union Counties.

MONTHLY MEETINGS
Meetings are scheduled monthly September through June on the third Friday of the Month (except usually the second Friday in December) at the Lewistown Country Club, 306 Country Club Road, Lewistown, PA at 12 Noon for Lunch.

Eleanor Roosevelt's Hudson Valley Cottage

We sponsor trips as a chapter.

In June 2007 we took a two day trip to The Hudson River Valley in NY state to visit the Culinary Institute and sightsee.  We stayed overnight and visited many historical sites and museums, including Roosevelt's home and a ferry trip down the Hudson.

Trips planned for 2008:

We are planning 4 trips for the 2008 year. They include:
1.) April 15-17 — A trip to Annapolis , MD (trip is full)

2.) July 8 — "In the Beginning" at Sight and Sound. 1:00 pm show followed by dinner t the Shady Maple Smorgasbord (Seafood Night, but many other delicious choices are available.

3.) Oct 21 — Johnstown Tour: A tour of the dam which broke and released the waters contributing to the Johnstown Flood of 1889; also various points of interest, a visit to the Flood Museum followed by lunch. After lunch a visit to the Johnstown Area Heritage Discovery Center, a ride on the Westmont Incline and a visit to the Grandview Cemetery. Breakfast Lunch and dinner are included.

4.) Dec 4 — "A Christmas Carol" at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre.
What a wonderful traditional way to celebrate Christmas!
